My name is Catherine Sabatos. I am honored to be the Principal of James E. Duckworth Special School. Our school specializes in teaching students with special needs. We are passionate about developing systems to engage our students, who have difficulty communicating and sharing what they know, want, or need. For this reason, technology provides a neccessary vehicle. It is my hope that through my expericence with the STEP grant we will embrace all types of technology for our students and ourselves.
My goals will align with the the following standard from Maryland Technology Standards for School Administrators :
V. Professional Practice and Productivity
B. Uses technology effectively for communication and collaboration
C. Engages in sustained professional development in the use of technology
I want to promote the use of technology among staff in order to deliver instruction more effectively to our students with special needs.
I want to learn to use cool tools for developing staff presentations.
I will use the document camera for professional development and collaborative planning sessions with my staff.
